How I Feel About The Photos You Never Shared From a Wedding Photographer

You know the ones I’m talking about.
The photos you downloaded, scrolled through slowly, maybe even cried over, and then never posted.
Maybe your hair was a little out of place.
Maybe your toddler wasn’t looking.
Maybe you were too in the moment to pose.
And so you saved them… but you didn’t share them.
And I just want to say: I still love those photos.
Maybe even more than the ones that did make it onto your feed.
Because those are the photos that tell the truth.
They capture what you really felt.
The belly laugh that burst out before you could stop it.
The hand you reached for instinctively.
The glance you gave your person when you thought no one was watching.
The tear that rolled down your grandmother’s cheek as she watched you walk down the aisle; soft and quiet, but deeply felt.

They might not be “perfect,” but they’re honest. And real moments always matter more than polished ones.
I take them for your kids, who will one day see how deeply they were loved.
For your grandkids, who will know you were the kind of person who laughed with your whole heart — and whose grandmother wept with pride on your wedding day.

So if you’ve got a folder full of unshared wedding photos, that’s okay.
Not every moment is meant for the world to see.
But I hope you keep them close.
I hope you look at them on quiet mornings or years from now, and remember exactly how it felt.
Because those unshared moments?
They’re often the most honest, the most tender, the most real.

And while the world may never see them,
I did. And I think they’re beautiful.
